Fire safety and ease of doing business in SL dominated weekly government press briefing
The message that came out of the weekly government
press briefing held at Youyi Building on Thursday Feb 4
is that Sierra Leone is
open for business and it is easy to open a business in Sierra Leone.
According to Ms. Michaela McKay chief of the
Corporate Affairs Commission, the days when businesses faced obstacles and had
to pay bribes to incorporate are over. Transparency and accountability are the
new bywords that govern the new commission that has taken over the duties of
the old Registry on Walpole Street.
But businesses need a secure environment to thrive, so
Ms. McKay was joined by Chief Kamanda-Bongay of the Sierra Leone Fire Force who
spoke of fire safety and the challenges faced by firefighters in Sierra Leone.
