Tourism and delegation from Hull City, UK dominated weekly govt. press briefing
Tourism and a visiting delegation from Hull, a twin
city of Freetown were the main topics of discussion at the weekly
Government press briefing.
Chaired by Deputy Government Spokesman Ajibu Jalloh,
only brief mention was made of William Wilberforce, a native of Hull whose
endeavors as an abolitionist led to the founding of the Sierra Leone Colony for
freed slaves late in the 18th century.
The Acting Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs
Kadija Seisay's statement highlighted the progress her ministry is making in
promoting tourism. She later answered questions regarding the controversial
demolition of houses at Lumley Beach.
